Shaab el Erg is an area located east of El Gouna, in the Red Sea, accessible by boat. This horseshoe-shaped reef is 5 kilometers long, and its main attraction lies in the resident population of bottlenose dolphins... some divers have spent up to 30 minutes diving with them! But that's not the only allure. Healthy coral reefs, tropical fish, and mobulas attract thousands of divers to this Hurghada area each year.

This area, where diving with resident bottlenose dolphins is common, is located at the northern end of the reef. With two large coral reefs and a channel between them, we can see groups of dolphins passing through the channel to enter and exit the lagoon in search of food. In addition to these playful residents, here we can see turtles, moray eels, Napoleon wrasses, crocodile fish, spotted rays, schools of fusiliers, trumpetfish, scorpionfish, and a large variety of hard corals.
Poseidon's Garden
In this garden, we can see large coral formations, including brain and table corals, clams of various sizes and colors, as well as a large number of masked pufferfish, large schools of Red Sea bannerfish, one of the many endemic species in this sea, or butterflyfish.
Manta Point
This area is located outside the reef and is visited by large mobulas in search of food-rich currents. Turtles, moray eels, and even a reef shark are also common here.
